Normal Work Schedule (Other):

Minimum of 37.5 work hours per week. Overnight and field trip travel required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include Saturday's.

Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision of Director, provides administrative support for the Upward Bound Grant Department.  Responsible for establishing and maintaining records of program participants utilizing database software while maintaining confidentiality.  Coordinate travel arrangements for staff and participants under the guidance of grant director.  Maintains travel records, reimbursement request, and expense reports.  Responsible for wide variety of office correspondence.  Assist with Annual Performance Report and Grant proposal submission processes.  Responsible for coordination of classroom/office space and acts as liaison for department.  Prepares part time staff time sheets and student stipends.  Responsible for submission of reimbursement request for staff and students within the grant budget guidelines.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma.  Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.  SBTCE minimum requirements: Associate degree or a high school diploma plus 2 yrs related work experience.  Selected positions may require the ability to type at a corrected rate of 35-55 wpm and/or basic knowledge of computer operations.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer a bachelor's degree plus 1 year experience or an associate degree plus 3 years of related work experience.  Prefer a degree in Secretarial Science, Office Systems Technology, or related field and two years experience in a related field and/or educational setting.  Prefer proficiency with budget/expense management using financial software.  Possess the ability to manage database systems such as Blumen and Colleague.
