General Description

This position will be located at the WCJC Richmond Campus.

The Assistant Admissions Officer is the front line college representative, responsible for the admission and onboarding of new, transient, and/or returning students and the processing of in person, by phone, and/or mail-in admission requests.  Position is responsible for answering general questions pertaining to Wharton County Junior College (WCJC), and specific questions relating to the application and admissions process.  In addition, the position processes applications and all incoming admissions documents.  Full job description can be viewed by clicking this link and search the job title.  

 

Requirements

Associate Degree or sixty credit hours from an accredited college, or two years of equivalent office work experience required.   Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills required.  The person in this position must be able to provide exceptional customer service to current and future students, visitors, staff, and administration and must meet expectations and objectives within a specified time frame.   Experience with Banner student information system highly recommended.  Official transcript required to support Associate Degree and/or credit hours. Criminal background check required.

Personal Days
Two personal days per year

Holidays
25 paid holidays per year for twelve month full time employees

Sick Days
1.5 sick days per month - maximum number accrued is 60 days
Nine month employees may accrue 13.50 days per year
Twelve month employees may accrue 18.50 days per year

Vacation Days
Twelve month employees who work 40 hours per week for 12 months - 12 vacation days per year
