Description

Head Coach, Women’s Soccer
Stipend:  $6, 500

Examples of Duties

  • Reports to the Athletic Director

  • Recruits quality players for the team

  • Develops relationships with college staff, area high schools, public and   community groups to enhance recruitment

  • Instructs team members on play and rules

  • Organizes and manages all components of a collegiate soccer program

  • Promotes student persistence and retention through athletic and related events

  • Plans and coordinates weekly study hall

  • Plans and coordinates team schedule and practices

  • Plans team travel and manages team budget

  • Trains, evaluates and makes recommendations for hiring of coaching staff

  • Represents the Women’s Soccer program in a manner that is consistent with the mission of the College

  • Works with the Athletic Advisor to develop activities to enhance academic performance, team building and leadership development

  • Works with college staff to resolve conflict

  • Prepares travel and accommodation arrangements as necessary

  • Ensures compliance with College, Region XIX, Garden State Athletic Conference and N.J.C.A.A. polices and regulations

  • Plans and implements both in-season and out-of-season conditioning programs

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:      
 
·         HS Diploma or GED
·         Minimum of Intercollegiate level and/or high school soccer coaching experience
·         Working knowledge of NCAA and NJCAA rules and regulations
·         Demonstration of effective student-athlete recruitment
·         Ability to work effectively with players and other coaches
·         Possession of a valid NJ driver’s license
·         Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
·         Must possess or obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire
               

Paid sick leave in accordance with NJ Sick Leave Law

Defined Contribution Retirement Program (DCRP)
Eligible part-time employees will be enrolled into the DCRP (Defined Contribution Retirement Plan) pension. Employees contribute 5% of their base salary and the college contributes 3% of base salary. Investment options are managed through Prudential Retirement. Life insurance benefits through DCRP are payable to the beneficiary at 1.5X the member's salary.
