Description

Responsible for directing and supervising all financial aid functions on all campuses of East Mississippi Community College.

Duties

Responsible for directing and supervising all financial aid functions on all campuses of East Missis. Supervises and coordinates the work of all GT and Scooba personnel who work in Financial Aid to ensure that the financial aid duties are carried out appropriately;
2. Processes Pell Grants and credits to students' accounts in accordance with current rules andregulations;
3. Supervises College Work-Study and regular Work-Study, evaluates students' needs andpackages appropriate aid to meet these needs;
4. Supervises the Federal Direct Loan Program, including the PLUS (Parent Loan) Program.
5. Supervises the administration of State Aid Programs.
 6. Supervises VA Coordinator and stays up to date on changes within the VA program;
7. Maintains scholarship records in accordance with institutional, state, and federalpolicy;
8. Maintains a current knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations pertaining to financial aid programs by means of conferences, workshops, and in-depth readings;
 9. Supervises and works closely with IT staff in all matters related to the Colleague System for financial aid.

Qualifications and Required Documents

Education: Bachelor’s degree required,
Master’s degree preferred
Skills: Good working knowledge of federal financial aid regulations, excellent communication skills
Work Experience include required number of years documented experience in a comparable/related position: 5 years of relevant work experience required
Other Qualifications: Must show strong leadership characteristics. Proficient in the use of automated, Financial Aid systems and interpersonal skills
