Class Description

The purpose of this class is to provide part time  professional level administrative support services to Compensation and Recruitment in the Human Resources Department.
This is a temporary 90-Day position. 
 

Minimum Requirements

Associates Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field and three years related experience, preferably in Recruitment. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Proven capability to manage projects independently; excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to solve problems are required. Prior experience working in a human resources department and higher education is preferred.

  1. Acquaintance with the local employment market and community resources.
  2. Familiarity with city, state and federal laws, regulations and codes related to employment and Equal Employment Opportunity regulations.
  3. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  5. Experience with applicant tracking systems and HRIS (e.g., NeoGov, Banner).
  6. Excellent team worker.
  7. Ability to handle sensitive confidential information.
  8. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  9. Good telephone and customer service skills.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Coordinate compensation and recruitment workflows under the supervision of the Director, Compensation and Recruitment.
  2. Work with Recruitment staff to establish and maintain recruitment files and records on an on-going basis. Ensure all files are scanned to the shared drive in HR.
  3. Work with Compensation staff to establish and maintain full-time employee job description files, full-time employee performance appraisal files, and all records related to part-time associate compensation and performance appraisals on an on-going basis. Ensure all files are scanned to the shared drive in HR.
  4. Conduct quarterly I-9 audit and organize all I-9 paperwork to ensure compliance with USCIS guidelines.
  5. Screen applicants for basic compliance with position qualifications in the applicant tracking system and updates applicant statuses in the applicant tracking system.
  6. Process background checks for assigned adjunct faculty positions.
  7. Correspond with hiring managers to ensure assigned adjunct faculty positions are posted and updated in a timely manner.
  8. Forward collected applicant materials to the concerned departments for evaluation.
  9. Assist with inputting I-9 information into Banner.
  10. Assist with updating recruitment related reports.
  11. Assist with recruitment advertisements.
  12. Meet walk-in applicants to assist with I-9 paperwork, handle new-hire paperwork, and assist with completing an application in the applicant tracking system.
  13. Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR-Compensation and Recruitment, over the telephone and via email accurately and in a timely manner.
  14. Collect, assess and disseminate to appropriate personnel, all certificates and testimonials of the candidates.
  15. Ensure all HR-Compensation and Recruitment policies, procedures and techniques are adhered.
  16. Perform special projects and assignments as requested.

  • Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when you open a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allows employees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdraw tax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors:  TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc.  Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature.  Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorization form is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/Human Resources Forms.

Free. Must obtain a parking permit from the Department of Public Safety to use on all campuses.
