About Greenfield Community College:

Greenfield Community College is located in the beautiful and historic Connecticut River Valley of western Massachusetts, between the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and the fertile farmland of the Connecticut River watershed. GCC is a public community college serving Franklin and Hampshire Counties, Southern Vermont and Southern New Hampshire. Job Description:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Teaches course(s) in one or more of the following subjects: Biology, Botany, Environmental Science, Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition, Microbiology. In your application materials, please indicate the subjects you are interested in teaching.  Classes meet online, in-person, or in a hybrid modality.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  • Conducts classes;
  • Prepares for instruction;
  • Assesses student performance;
  • Provides student assistance by appointment; and
  • Attends a limited number of faculty meetings.


Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Biology, or closely related field;
  • Demonstrated successful experience working with people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, with a range of academic abilities; and
  • Demonstrated commitment to the community college mission.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least one year of successful experience teaching chemistry or biology courses at the college level;
  • Evidence of successful teaching experience in a community college; and
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in and outside of the classroom.


Additional Information:

SALARY:

Summer I and II: $1,126 per credit; Fall: $1,132 per credit. Courses can run from one to four credits.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Adjunct Instructor positions are part-time, semester-to-semester, non-benefited MCCC/MTA/DCE unit positions.
