Job Summary/Basic Function: | Everett Community College is building a pool of qualified applicants interested in teaching Early Childhood Education classes in Spanish. Classes will be held at The Village in south Everett. This position reports to the Dean of Communication and Social Sciences and provides instruction in early childhood education courses leading to certificates, Associate of Technical Arts, or Associate of Arts and Science degree in Early Childhood Education, Para Education, or Education. Primary responsibilities include: • Instruct early childhood education courses as specified in the faculty contract using a variety of methodologies and modes of learning including on-campus, hybrid, and online learning modes. • Identify and implement procedures to assess individual student learning as well as course, program, and college learning outcomes. • Collaborate with the Early Learning Center and various outside programs, schools, and centers to provide meaningful observations, practicum opportunities, and field experiences for students in the Early Childhood program. |
Minimum Qualifications: | -Master’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or closely related field. -Community college or university-level teaching experience, full or part-time. -Experience teaching early childhood education courses. -Fluent in Spanish (native or near native level fluency) -Experience teaching in an online environment. -Demonstrated experience, and/or classroom strategies for, effectively instructing students from diverse backgrounds including differences in culture, heritage, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, ability, class, and religion. |
