Class Description

The purpose of this class is to assist the Art and Design Department Coordinators in the maintenance of studio spaces, and with the preparation of materials for courses at Essex and Catonsville.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Associates in Fine Arts with a minimum of two-years of relevant Art Studio experience required.
  2. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record containing five or less moving violation points on the driving record and the ability to travel between the Catonsville and Essex campuses.
  3. The ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to chest height.
  4. Daytime availability with flexible hours.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  • Cleaning studios following established safety protocols
  • Assisting with the maintenance of departmental machinery and equipment
  • Constructing projects made with wood carpentry construction
  • Cutting of materials used in studio classes
  • Preparation of materials used in studio classes
  • Cleaning and painting areas in the Art & Design Department
  • Maintaining tools used in studio classes
  • Assisting with the resurfacing of studio worktables
  • Assisting with the storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous materials
  • Assisting with inventory control of consumable materials used in studio classes and the receiving of those consumables reordered 
  • Assisting with maintenance of digital fabrication tools used in studio classes

  • Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when you open a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allows employees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdraw tax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors:  TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc.  Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature.  Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorization form is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/Human Resources Forms.
Parking
Free. Must obtain a parking permit from the Department of Public Safety to use on all campuses.
