Job Description:

POSITION: Full-Time Program Manager, Community Education; Program Manager, Center for Corporate and Community Education; Haverhill; Campus; 37.5 hours/week; Non-Unit Professional Position

SUMMARY: The Program Manager, Community Education is a member of the Center for Corporate and Community Education (CCCE) which provides corporate training for local firms and job-ready certificate programs and courses and personal interest offerings for individuals.  This highly action- and goal-oriented individual is responsible for developing and executing new noncredit offerings (with an emphasis on job-oriented certificate programs) and iterating existing ones as well as driving enrollment through innovative, actionable, and measurable marketing strategies. The person in this role needs a successful track record in organizing and steering cross-functional working groups as well as mentoring and managing direct reports.  The Program Manager will have some and/or develop knowledge and understanding of the role of noncredit in the context of community colleges to inform how offerings are developed and refined. At times, it will be necessary for the Program Manager to represent CCCE externally with various community partners and competently speak to the value of various offerings to the appropriate audiences. Prior experience in community college setting is greatly desired.

RESPONSIBILITES:     

Reporting to Director, Center for Corporate and Community Education responsibilities include but are not limited to:

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT (65%)

  • Plan, develop, market, deliver, and evaluate non-credit professional development, personal interest, lifelong learning studies, and career certificate courses and programs.
  • Oversee curriculum development, instructor sourcing, course scheduling, marketing, and evaluation.
  • Develop sustainable processes by which to pilot new offerings, refine existing ones and evaluate outcomes.
  • Cultivate relationships with community partners to inform offering creation and source non-credit students.
  • Mentor, train, and provide oversight of Assistant Program Manager, and instructors engaged in non-credit open enrollment courses and programs at NECC.
  • Approve requisitions, monitor budget expenditures, track program performance and revenue, and maintain accurate records of Community Education initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Director of CCCE to establish appropriate KPIs to evaluate offering success for the purposes of iteration
  • Coordinate with Corporate Education team to find areas where offerings can be developed, tested, refined, and sold to corporate clients.
  • Manage grant-funded program proposal development, execution, budgets and reporting.

MARKETING (25%)

  • Manage, develop, and evaluate all external marketing efforts related to community education, including the determination and execution of timelines, coordination of cross-functional groups and external vendors, and collaboration and coordination with Marketing Communications.
  • Develop, execute, and measure strategies to market courses, workshops, and programs.
  • Oversee development of program marketing collateral
  • Represent NECC and the interests of the CCCE at college and statewide meetings and initiatives.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (10%)

  • Manage special projects, programs, initiatives, and other duties assigned, including coordination, development, testing, implementation, and registration software management.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong ability to drive new initiatives from ideation to development to evaluation and iteration.
  • 1-2 years of direct experience developing budgets and managing personnel.
  • 1-2 years of demonstrated professional experience in incorporating execution into strategic plans.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to balance many projects at any given time with a focus on quality execution.
  • Strong deductive reasoning skills and creative problem solving
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to adapt to new software products.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Exposure to operationalizing new software products (i.e. enterprise database software, project management software, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting a culturally diverse population including low-income, first generation and disabled students and diverse constituencies of various social identities (ethnic, racial, religious, economic, educational backgrounds and abilities, sexual orientation, and gender expression).
  • Ability to read and interpret budgetary and statistical data.
  • Ability to occasionally travel throughout the local area to cultivate working relationships within the community and across the state. 
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual or Bicultural (Spanish and English).
  • Experience in customer service setting.
  • 1-2 years' experience in grant writing
  • Experience and/or familiarity of Massachusetts community colleges.
  • Broad understanding of developing new adult learning offerings.
  • Professional experience and business acumen to effectively represent the department.
  • Background in developing and testing electronic marketing collateral and evaluating and interpreting marketing results.
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field or equivalent combinations of education and experience.

BACKGROUND CHECK: Candidates will be required to pass a CORI and SORI check as a condition of employment.


Additional Information:

SALARY: Anticipated starting salary range is $75,000 - $76,500 annually with complete fringe benefit package including competitive health insurance, dental insurance, basic life insurance, long-term disability insurance, paid sick, vacation and personal leave, educational benefits for employee/spouse/dependents, and excellent retirement benefits.
