Louis A. Faillace, MD, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston is seeking qualified psychologists to join our excellent faculty team at UTHealth Houston Harris County Psychiatric Center (HCPC) and the newly opened John S Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center at UTHealth Houston.

 

Inpatient psychology faculty provide evidence-based individual, family, and group psychotherapy services and psychological assessments as part of the HCPC Psychology Services team. The position also provides opportunities for exceptional teaching and clinical supervision for psychology predoctoral interns, postdoctoral fellows, practicum students, and psychiatry residents. Position Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Direct and oversee multidisciplinary evidence-based treatment and programming for juvenile justice-involved youth.

  • Complete referral screenings, and conduct intakes, as well as group, individual, and family therapy.

  • Proficient administration of psychological testing to juvenile justice-involved adolescent patients and completion of assessment reports promptly when needed.

  • Provide training and consultation to staff regarding milieu and behavioral management.

  • Supervise and teach psychology trainees including interns, practicum students, fellows, and psychiatry residents.

  • Participate in clinical, research, and educational missions of the department.

  • Work effectively within a multidisciplinary setting, and in collaboration with the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department

 

Qualifications:

 

  • PsyD or PhD in clinical, counseling, or school psychology from an APA-accredited program.

  • Eligibility for or ability to maintain a license as a psychologist in Texas.

 

Clinical experience with both adults and children/adolescents preferred.
