Job Description:

Herkimer County Community College invites qualified candidates to apply for a faculty teaching position and serve as Coordinator of Clinical Education for the College's Physical Therapist Assistant Program.  This is a twelve-month, full-time, tenure track position beginning fall 2023.  Faculty rank will be based on qualifications and experience.  This position has potential for advancement.

In addition to teaching duties, the candidate will also serve as the Academic Coordinator for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program ensuring the integrity of the program and that the College is in compliance with the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) standards.


Requirements:

Candidates must be a physical therapist who demonstrates an understanding of education and contemporary clinical practice appropriate for leadership in physical therapist assistant education. These qualifications include:  a minimum of a Master's degree, earned Doctorate highly preferred; holds a current NYS license to practice as a physical therapist, a minimum of five years, full-time documented post licensure experience that includes a minimum of three years of full-time clinical experience, minimum of three years teaching experience in higher education in didactic and/or clinical teaching, experience in administration/management; experience in educational theory and methodology, curricular and instructional design, student evaluation and outcome assessment, and the equivalent of nine credits of coursework in educational foundations or is willing to complete these within one year of hiring.


Additional Information:

Community College teaching experience highly desirable.  Additional responsibilities include student advisement, curriculum development, service on division and college-wide committees (including co-chairing PTA advisory) as well as club advisor for the PTA club.
