Master’s degree in Communications, or closely related field. Experience teaching community college and dual credit students. Experience with online teaching and learning. Preferred: Experience working with ethnically diverse and rural student populations. Experience working with underprepared students. Rank: Instructor or Assistant Professor DOE Tenure Status:

Salary: $64,500 to $70,000 DOE

Primary Activity: Exclusively for Credit

Position Summary: Southeast New Mexico College (formerly New Mexico State University Carlsbad) is seeking applications for a full-time tenure track position in Communications. The accepted job candidate will teach courses in Communications. The faculty member hired in this position is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities to promote student-centered learning and success. At a minimum, the related activities include instruction, holding office hours, serving on various committees, and demonstrating a commitment to professional development through participating in local, state, regional, and national professional activities and organizations. The accepted job candidate will teach Introduction to Communication (COMM 1115G) and Public Speaking (COMM 1130G) as well as developmental reading and writing courses as needed in a 5/5 teaching load.
