Job Description:

  • Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY, is accepting applications for an adjunct instructor in our Business Administration program to teach classes in principles of management and human resource management.

Courses include:

BUS-230 Principles of Management: This course studies the management process with a survey of managerial and organizational theories. Specific topics will include planning, organizing, supervision, control, labor relations, and decision-making.

BUS-231 Human Resource Management: This course is a study in the major areas of Human Resource Management. It includes recruitment, selection, job analysis, training, job evaluation, wage and salary administration, and labor relations. The course specifically addresses the human resource manager's responsibility for the development of employee potential within an environment that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion for all members of an organization.

 

The adjunct instructor is responsible for lecturing, compiling tests, assessing student performance relative to standardized learning objectives.


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • MBA or MS Human Resource Management
  • Prior adjunct/teaching experience at the college level
  • Microsoft Office suite proficiency
  • LMS proficiency

 

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate's academic credentials will be enhanced and informed by real-world leadership, human resources, and management experience. She/he will not only explain ideas and theories to diverse groups of students, but also describe their implications for students' lives and careers.  

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred (other languages will be considered)

 


Additional Information:

This position requires on-campus classroom teaching. Future opportunities may include OCC@Liverpool and online.
