Truck Driver & Donation Processing Associate – Full time

Do you have a passion for helping our donors and customers? Do you get excited seeing new donations come in, and are driven knowing every day you are helping local families build affordable housing?
Habitat ReStore in Madison is searching for a truck driver & donation processing associate. In this full-time position, you will be picking up scheduled residential and commercial donations driving company vehicles (16-foot cube and 26-foot box trucks), while working with fellow staff, volunteers, customers, and donors.
Bring your customer service experience and drive for making a difference in Dane County to strengthen ReStore’s operations. You must have experience in driving a box truck and operating warehouse equipment such as a forklift, pallet jack, flatbed platform truck, hand truck, service cart, and dolly. Possessing a valid driver’s license and clean driving record are a must.

AmeriCorps Construction Crew Leader – 2024-25

For one year, you can get paid to build sustainable solutions in a community, gain valuable hands on experience and prepare for your future. Full- and part-time AmeriCorps service positions offer a great opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of others while building your own knowledge and skillset. AmeriCorps National members serve the community in direct service and capacity building activities.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with all aspects of hands-on construction tasks including, but not limited to, demolition, site prep, framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, roofing, finish carpentry and landscaping.
  • Projects may include new construction, rehabilitation, critical home repair and weatherization projects.
  • Lead small groups of volunteers and facilitate safe and positive experiences for everyone working on site.
BENEFITS of AMERICORPS SERVICE
  • Living allowance $17,600 (full time) or $9,000 (part time) for approximately 10 ½ months of service.
  • Segal Education Award of $6,895 (full time) or $3,447.50 (part time), upon successful completion of service.
  • Housing stipend paid directly to your landlord – $300 per month.
  • Health care benefits and enrollment in Employee Assistance Plan.
  • Personal and medical leave — approximately 10 days total.
  • Possible forbearance or deferment of qualified student loans.

REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of, and willingness to promote, the mission and activities of Habitat for Humanity International and AmeriCorps.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Experience working with volunteers, teaching or group facilitation.
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
  • Experience working as a member of a team.
