Description
?Activities of the group include satellite, balloon, aircraft, and ground-based observations of Galactic and extragalactic objects and background radiations at wavelengths spanning the range of the ultraviolet to the radio. We are especially interested in studying the origin and evolution of the Universe, including the cosmic microwave background radiation, cosmic infrared background, large-scale structure, dark energy, emission from the ""cosmic dark ages"", AGNs, and starburst galaxies. Satellite activities include the analyses of data obtained with the IRAS, COBE, HST, ISO, WMAP, Spitzer, GALEX, Spitzer, Herschel, and WISE satellites. Major upcoming missions that our group is involved with include SOFIA, JWST, Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope (formerly WFIRST), and PRIMA.

Postdoctoral scholars interested in this wide range of extragalactic to cosmological astrophysics, with expertise in theory, modeling, observations, and instrumentation are encouraged to contact Lab Chief Erin Smith for further information.
