Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Web Developer to join our faculty team in a part-time capacity. As a Web Developer Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and training to students pursuing careers in web development. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, practical experience in web development, and a passion for teaching. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Conducting lectures, tutorials, and hands-on practical sessions on web development topics for students.
  • Preparing and delivering course materials, including lesson plans, assignments, and assessments.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to students, offering support and feedback on their progress.
  • Helping us to develop and update curriculum content to ensure relevance and alignment with industry standards.
  • Staying abreast of the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in web development to enhance instructional content.
  • Collaborating with other instructors and faculty members to enhance the overall educational experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Web Development, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in web development, with expertise in at least two of the following topics: Web Development with HTML and CSS, PHP and MySQL, WordPress, JavaScript, and Application Development in JavaScript with React Native.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages and frameworks relevant to web development.

For each semester worked, McHenry County College provides Adjunct Faculty a sick leave allowance and credits toward MCC tuition waivers. The College also offers Adjunct Faculty a Professional Development fund each academic year.  In addition, Adjunct Faculty have the opportunity to save for retirement through deferred compensation plans.
