    Purpose and Role: Performs facilities maintenance and repair work to ensure all related buildings and campus grounds are well maintained and working properly.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Analyzes equipment and systems in need of repair and makes recommendations on replacement as needed.
    • Performs preventive maintenance to ensure smooth daily operations.
    • Makes repairs and service to campus facilities where needed including HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, wall repair, painting, door and door hardware, flooring, landscape, and general grounds related issues.
    • Performs troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on HVAC and electrical systems including dx cooling, chilled and hot water systems, heat pumps, boilers, cooling towers, fan coils, valves, motors, kitchen equipment and refrigeration, etc.

    • May be assigned to help in other areas as needed such as with snow removal, preparing classrooms, and general buildings and grounds maintenance.
    • Uses aerial lifts as necessary from time to time; experience with these machines is a plus.
    • Department is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for faculty, staff, and students.
    • Other miscellaneous duties may be required.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma with technical courses; associate/technical degree/certificate in technical field preferred.
    • Two years of facilities/industrial maintenance experience to include an emphasis in HVAC and electrical. Knowledge of carpentry and plumbing preferred.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial equipment and systems including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
    • Good organization, customer service, and communication skills. Self-starter able to work independently.

    What You’ll Do

    • Engage with high school staff and military personnel to coordinate a full calendar of planned recruiting activities.
    • Recruit at high schools within the designated territory (Illinois/St. Louis Metro Area), including presenting to groups of students and meeting with educators/guidance counselors to build awareness of Ranken as a post-graduation option.
    • Attend college fairs, career fairs, and other recruiting events to connect with potential students and their influencers.
    • Visit area military bases and attend military career fairs/college fairs to build awareness among those separating from the military.

  • Public Safety Supervisor, 2nd Shift

    Job Title: Public Safety Supervisor- 2nd Shift

     

    Location: St. Louis, MO.

     

    Purpose of the Role: Responsible for assisting in the overall security and safety of the campus including employees, students, and visitors and physical assets and properties during the second shift. Assists in risk management, loss prevention, and a campus free from criminal incidents.

    Time: 3pm- 11pm

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Monitors and maintains surveillance equipment and alarms, both fire and intrusion. Documents incidents and files reports.
    • Identifies and reports safety and security issues to the Director of Public Safety. Recommends and implements solutions.
    • Conducts campus and Ranken-owned property checks. Prepares buildings for normal school functions (locks/unlocks doors, turns on/off lights, etc.).
    • Serves as primary contact for any medical emergency that may occur during the second shift.
    • Supervises the second shift security officers in the performance of their duties ensuring proper shift coverage. Takes corrective action as needed.
    • Serves as the first tier local law enforcement liaison during the second shift. Sends emergency text notifications as needed and keeps Director of Public Safety informed of any incident requiring police, fire, or EMS involvement.
    • Ensures friendly customer service by the security staff to employees, students, and guests by providing directions and information. Coaches security officers on customer service techniques and appropriate methods of dealing with difficult people.

    Requirements:

    • Associate degree in law enforcement or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
    • Three to five years of experience in campus security preferred; military experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and negotiate desired outcomes.
    • Knowledge of effective management practices including training and motivating a team of three to four security officers.
    • Ability to use sound judgment and decision making, especially in emergency or crisis situations. Ability to enforce policies for the safety and security of the campus. Effective skills in customer service, communication, attention to detail, and follow through. Proficient in computer use related to the position.
    • Must be licensed to carry firearms and be able to pass an extensive background investigation.
    • This position is scheduled for late afternoon and evening hours, 3 – 11 pm; some additional weekend hours will be required to participate in campus security functions.
    • Willing to change shifts to accommodate shift coverage when emergencies arrive or when other officers are on vacation.

    Purpose of the Role and Scope of Responsibility:  Responsibilities for the Plumbing Instructor include instructional planning, teaching, and learning; student recruitment, retention and advising; assist in the maintenance of lab and classroom equipment;  work with Plumbing program advisory committee to maintain and enhance Plumbing curriculum and assess Plumbing program outcomes; assist with scheduling, budgeting, hiring, and other duties; student advising, etc.; and participate in available training to keep current in Plumbing & Pipefitting Technology. Instruct and evaluate students in a live work setting who are performing general services and repairs. Special attention to service/ repair, commercial and residential, water supply, waste /vent systems, water heating, gas supply, plumbing math, blueprint reading. This includes theory and hands on in the shop.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Five years of full time employment as a Licensed Plumber.
    • Minimum of a Journeyman Plumbers license and one other license (Backflow, OSHA 30, Another state)
    • Community college or technical school teaching experience a plus.
    • Ability to motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Computer literate in MS Office.

    Job Title: Industrial Technology Adjunct-Evening

     

    Location: Ashland, MO.

     

    Purpose of the Role and Scope of Responsibility: Prepares for and teaches for-credit and customized non-credit courses and conducts labs as assigned by the department chair of the Industrial Technology department.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Teaches assigned theory and lab classes. Plans daily activities for students in theory and lab. Supervises students for both theory and technical project grades.
    • Instructs and evaluates students in a live work setting who are performing industrial maintenance, to include instruction in shop safety.
    • Maintains a safe worksite and enforces Ranken’s safety standards.
    • Assists in the maintenance of lab and classroom equipment.
    • Assists management with developing curriculum and syllabi, scheduling, budgeting, hiring, and other duties.
    • Participates in college governance, committee work, student advising, etc.
    • Participates in available training to keep current in Industrial Technology.
    • Assists in maintaining requirements of industry standards.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by authorized individual.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Knowledge/Education/Experience
    • AS or BS degree in Industrial Technology or related engineering field.
    • Three years or more of industrial technology experience.
    • Community college or technical school teaching experience preferred.
    • Excellent presentation skills including strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
    • Ability to assemble, repair, and troubleshoot hydraulic circuits.
    • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and drawings.
    • Mechanically inclined and experienced with mechanical repairs on industrial equipment.
    • Experience with heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment preferred
    • EPA certified preferred.

    Job Title: Fleet Maintenance Coordinator

    Purpose of the Role and Scope of Responsibility: Under general supervision maintains and repairs College-owned vehicles to operate in a safe and reliable manner. Maintains and documents fleet vehicle maintenance records, registration, and titling.

    Responsibilities:

    • Performs the operation of vehicle maintenance, diagnosis, and repair for college-owned vehicles.
    • Vehicle maintenance tasks include, but are not limited to, washing, detailing, oil changes, tire and wiper blade replacement.
    • Vehicle diagnostic tasks include, but are not limited to, check engine and no-check engine light drivability diagnosis.
    • Vehicle repair tasks include replacement of parts as necessary according to diagnosis or maintenance requirements.
    • Manage students in a live work setting who are performing general services and repairs on automobiles, to include instruction in shop safety and DNR compliance.
    • Ensures safe, clean, and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements.
    • Conducts fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met.
    • Manages effective utilization of vehicle assets.
    • Plans and administers a preventive maintenance and vehicular replacement program for college-owned vehicles.
    • Receives and processes vehicle accident and damage reports.
    • Prepares cost analysis and periodic management and operational reports.
    • Ensures that all documentation and requirements are met regarding the automotive fleet.
    • Coordinates and operates shuttle busses during Ranken events.
    • Assists with division supplies and parts logistics.
    • Assists with transportation of school vehicles.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Knowledge/Education/Experience

    • An associate degree in the related field from a regionally accredited institution.
    • One year of work experience in the industry OR combination of additional work experience in the industry with industry certifications.
    • A driver’s license in good standing required
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to teach and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
    • Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines.
    • Computer literate in MS Office.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • A certificate in the related field from a regionally accredited institution.
    • Five years of work experience in the industry OR combination of additional work experience in the industry with industry certifications.
    • Seven years of work experience in the industry OR combination of additional work experience in the industry with industry certifications.
    • ASE certification (multiple disciplines preferred).
    • Current Missouri Safety and Emissions inspection experience
    • A valid CDL Class driver’s license with a passenger endorsement preferred.
