Description

We seek applicants for a full-time position to provide administrative and reception support to Tutoring Services and assist with efficient daily operations of the area.

General responsibilities include but are not limited to
  • Support the Associate Director with tutor scheduling processes, including tracking tutor substitute requests and facilitating related communications
  • Schedule tutoring appointments for all campus locations and follow up with students regarding appointment changes as needed
  • Provide in-person, phone, and online reception and greet students, faculty, staff, and other callers and visitors to Tutoring Services
  • Ensure efficient daily operational flow of Tutoring Services by keeping tutors informed of their scheduled appointments, checking in students, etc.
  • Support processes for hiring, training, and onboarding temporary part-time employees 

Requirements

  • Associate degree or appropriate experience/education
  • Demonstrated minimum keyboarding skill of 40 WPM
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel
  • Ability to work effectively and inclusively within a diverse campus community
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; attention to detail; and ability to problem-solve, work independently, and function professionally under pressure
  • Availability to work evenings and/or Saturdays as needed in accordance with Tutoring Services hours of operation

Desired Qualifications

  • Work experience in reception or customer service field

EMPLOYEE LEAVE
Vacation: 10 days per year with a maximum annual carry-over of 20 days
(In an effort to recognize length of service, these employees will receive additional vacation hours after a certain number of years of service.) 
Sick Leave: 12 days per year with unlimited annual carry-over
Holidays: 12 designated paid holidays plus 3 paid floating days
HCC is closed from Christmas Eve Day through New Year's Day generally resulting in 2-3 additional paid days
