Associate Director, Entrepreneurial Services Program and Services

The WBDC is hiring for an Associate Director, Entrepreneurial Services Program and Services. This role is based in the Little Village community in Chicago, Illinois. This full-time, exempt position reports to the Director, Illinois SBDC at the WBDC.

Who We Are:

The Women's Business Development Center (WBDC) is a 501(c)(3) nationally recognized leader in the field of women's business development and economic empowerment for over 30 years. Our mission is to support and accelerate business development and growth by targeting women and serving all diverse business owners, to strengthen their participation in, and impact on, the economy. We value our knowledgeable, prepared, and diverse staff and foster a results-oriented, supportive, and progressive culture.

Through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) has awarded funds to the WBDC to establish a Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in Little Village. The WBDC will utilize the funding awarded to provide information, confidential business guidance, training, and other resources for start-ups and existing small businesses. The WBDC is responsible for operating and managing the SBDC.

The WBDC shall retain, with the approval of the Director of the Illinois SBDC Network, a Business Advisor to support the day-to-day functions of the SBDC at the WBDC in the Little Village community of Chicago, Illinois.

The Role:

The Associate Director, Entrepreneurial Services Program and Services supports the delivery of Illinois SBDC at the WBDC programming that provides business development services and resources to nascent and emerging entrepreneurs, including those that are economically disadvantaged and underserved.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Plan and facilitate Illinois SBDC at the WBDC programs and services.

· Deliver client advising, including assessing and supporting client needs.

· Assist in managing and coordinating resources, including various subject-matter experts for the execution of programming and services.

· Represent the Illinois SBDC at the WBDC at trade shows and events through networking, presentations, and public speaking.

· Work with marketing team to manage promotion of, and outreach for, workshops, events, and training sessions.

· Align with the WBDC's overall strategic goals.

· Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

· Analytic skills and financial acumen

· Strong communication and organizational skills

· High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

· Bilingual in English and Spanish

· 2+ years of work experience

· Bachelor's degree

· Passionate about women's issues and economic development

The salary range for this position within the WBDC is $55,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience and skillset.
