Description

Position Summary:

The Development Manager will have the ability to run successful and sustainable annual fundraising campaigns including

events, appeals or grants that provide funding for Turning Pointe as well as recruit and retain talented volunteers and

supporters of the mission.


Essential Job Functions:

? Manage the event and grant calendar - under the guidance of the Director of Development & Operations - for TPAF

including signature/legacy events and cultivate or explore opportunities for new events

? Manage events logistics, including registration and attendee tracking, presentation and materials support, pre- and

post-event evaluations

? Identify potential attendees, sponsors, and event underwriters

? Collaborate with the Development Team to maximize fundraising and volunteer opportunities

? Build relationships with vendors, community partners, and volunteers

? Secure venues, create themes, and work with sponsors and community members to execute high-quality events

? Assist in the coordination of donor recognition and retention

? Assist in budgeting for events and adhere to budget

? Assist in the promotion of events in the community and on social media

? Assist in the input and management of the donor & volunteer database

? Build positive relationships with all those involved in the community and within the organization to enhance their

experience of the TPAF mission

? Assist in the creation of the donor recognition programs

? Perform other work and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

Experience & Skills:

? Previous experience in coordinating events and fundraising

? Understanding of non-profit organizations

Physical Demands:

? May include lifting and supporting up to 50 pounds

? May be required to bend, stoop, and kneel

? Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations

? Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time

? Moderate to high stress levels

? Daily contact with students, teachers, and school staff

? Regular contact with parents, community members and outside agency personnel

? May be exposed to contact with individuals displaying physically aggressive, self-abusive, or socially

undesirable behavior
