Position Summary
A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Felton lab for highly motivated and talented applicants who are interested in diabetes immunology research. We are specifically interested in interactions between immune cells and the islet microenvironment, the role B lymphocytes in type 1 diabetes pathogenesis, and identifying early biomarkers of disease using relevant in vitro and ex vivo models of mouse and human type 1 diabetes. This research makes extensive use of cell and molecular biology techniques and includes small animal (mouse) handling and dosing.

The Center for Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases is a highly interactive and diverse research environment with a strong history of mentoring and career development of junior scientists. In addition to a rich research environment, the Center and School of Medicine provide numerous scientific seminar series, career development workshops, and the opportunity to interact with a diverse pool of international scientists.

The Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research conducts basic science and translational research within the Department of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine. The Wells Center houses more than 200 faculty investigators, staff, and trainees seeking answers to the most pressing questions related to childhood illness. With the collaboration between scientists and physicians, the center aims to increase knowledge of causes and mechanisms of serious pediatric diseases. Our goal is to develop innovative approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of sick children in Indiana and beyond.
