Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
This position manages the audio-visual support team for the Office of Smith IT at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. The AV Manager is responsible for the AV infrastructure in Van Munching Hall and satellite locations. This position provides technical direction and insight through the project life cycle from planning to design, execution, and support. The AV Manager will drive opportunities for new technology, cost savings, and operational efficiencies. As the technical authority on multiple aspects of AV, a functional lead, this individual will be tasked with complex work that will keep them engaged and challenged.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Design Engineering or Information Systems or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Experience:
  • 5+ years of progressive technical-related and management experience.
  • 5+ years Planning, design, implementation of audio, visual and control solutions.
  • Solid experience in enterprise AV environments with presentation technology, and other relevant education-based technologies.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Solid understanding of enterprise audio visual distribution, protocols, and data formats.
  • Working knowledge of audio, video, control, and network communications systems.
  • Working knowledge of equipment by leading manufacturers such as Crestron, Extron, Biamp, and Shure.
  • Working knowledge of hardware/software video conference systems including Cisco Webex, Zoom, and Zoom Rooms.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Ability to read schematics and communicate design intent.
  • Ability to create detailed documentation and diagrams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to mentor junior playmakers.
  • Time management skills.

Experience with Avixa CTS, CTS-D, Crestron DMC-E-4K, DM-NVX, InfoComm Certified Tech Specialist (installation, Design)Crestron Certified Programmer preferred Certified Technology Specialist Certification, Design (CTS-D).
