About the Department | NC State CVM prepares the next generation of veterinarians and veterinary scientists, conducts bench and clinical research to solve animal and human health problems, addresses critical ecosystem and public health issues, helps protect the U.S. food supply, and promotes a clearer understanding and appreciation of the ramifications related to the growing human-animal bond that is at the center of these concerns. The Office of Continuing Education & Outreach provides programs and support to veterinarians, veterinary technicians, research scientists, and the public through multiple outreach programs. These programs include Continuing Veterinary Medical Education, Visitors program, Student Speakers Bureau and events hosted for the public. The Continuing Veterinary Medical Education (CVME) program at NC State Veterinary Medicine is committed to lifelong learning programs for veterinary medical professionals. Our programs provide educational activities that maintain, develop or increase the knowledge on recent developments in veterinary medicine and help improve the quality of life for veterinary patients. |
Essential Job Duties | The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a dedicated and professional receptionist for its main building. You will be the first point of contact for the College, providing visitor assistance, administrative, secretarial, and office support duties. Reporting directly to the Director of Continuing Education and Outreach, the receptionist will greet and direct visitors, assist the Continuing Education and Outreach department, and support the Dean’s Administrative Team as needed. Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education | High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. |

Other Required Qualifications | General computer knowledge, including use of: email, navigation of CVM website, MS Office (Word & Excel), Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, Google Drive, and ability to learn proprietary software such as the online college room scheduler. Strong verbal and communication skills. |
