General Summary
Odessa College Continuing Education is seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented individual to fill the position of Health Careers Customer Service Representative/CPR Coordinator. In this dual role, the candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service to students, staff, and the community in our health careers continuing education programs. Additionally, the candidate will oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of all American Heart Association (AHA) training programs for Odessa College’s CPR Training Center.
Specific Position Duties
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, participants and internal/external customers.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Answers inquires and resolves issues.
  • Assist students with the enrollment and registration process, offering guidance on program requirements, prerequisites and payment options.
  • Serves as a point of contact for American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site customers, assisting in coordinating scheduling of instructors and maintaining the instructor database.
  • Effectively communicates program information, schedules, updates and AHA related details to students and prospective participants through phone, email and in-person interactions.
  • Serves as a liaison between AHA Training Site customers, ensuring clear communication with instructors and prospective students.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student information, registrations and AHA related documentation.
  • Assist in organizing and building AHA courses, utilizing registration software and ensuring manikin integrity, infection prevention and availability of resource materials.
  • Issue AHA eCards, track and create utilization reports, maintain equipment, order supplies and stay updated on AHA PAM Manual.
  • Actively promote health careers continuing education programs to potential students by explaining the benefits, features and opportunities they offer.
  • Collaborate with other team members and faculty to ensure a seamless and positive experience for students and AHA participants.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordination of classes and programs, ensuring they run smoothly.
  • Assist with communicate updates and training sessions on course materials, policies, etc. for all AHA instructors.
  • Collaborate with the team to provide a positive learning experience for students and participants.
  • Ability to pay attention to details and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work flexible work hours to accommodate morning, evening, and weekend programs as needed.
  • Knowledge in use of computers and office software applications.
  • Knowledge of health careers or continuing education programs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer service or administrative experience, preferably in an educational or healthcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications
  • College coursework preferred.
  • Hold a current AHA Provider certification in Heartsaver, Basic Life Support (BLS), or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
