Position Summary/Purpose of Position: | The Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence & Security (ARLIS) – a University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) under the UMD Vice President for Research (VPR) is a growing organization with a core mission to support the government’s security and intelligence communities. ARLIS aims to integrate social and behavioral sciences, AI, and computing for new Human Domain applied research and development capabilities.
ARLIS seeks to hire an Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML) Scientist. Exceptional candidates in all areas related to the ARLIS’s current research trajectories will be given serious consideration, particularly those with experience in multiple areas. As an AI/ML Scientist, you will be part of up to two or three project teams, and your activities may include:
This is a full-time professional track (PTK) faculty position at the University of Maryland with benefits. Salary is dependent on experience, qualifications, and hiring level. The preferred start date is as soon as possible. |

Minimum Qualifications: | Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in computer engineering, computer science, engineering, or information technology. Equivalent demonstrated experience will also be considered. Experience: Have 5+ years of experience (2+ years of experience if Masters or Doctoral degree) in the machine learning and data science fields; OR completed and have a strong interest in linear algebra, calculus, statistics, probability, or related coursework.
