Job Description
Minneapolis College, a vibrant and inclusive two-year community college in Minnesota, is accepting applications for a fixed-term, full-time Economics Instructor position for the College’s 2024-2025 Academic Year.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Teaching a full-time load of 30 credits for one (1) academic year in Economics. Courses include Principles of Macroeconomics, Principles of Microeconomics, and Personal Finance.
  • Delivering instruction via on-campus, blended/hybrid, fully online, and off-campus (TREC Program at Lino Lakes Correctional Facility) modalities through the D2L Brightspace Learning Management System.
  • Holding weekly office hours.
  • Providing quality instruction and services to a truly diverse student population.
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development to stay current in Economics and pedagogies that expand breadth and depth of understanding in the discipline.
  • Participating in departmental, school and college meetings to maintain collegial and cooperative work relationships with faculty colleagues and all college personnel.
  • Participating in course, department, and institutional review, revision, and assessment projects.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must possess or meet the minimum qualifications for the Minnesota State credential field of Economics.

Education Requirement
  • Master’s degree with a major in economics or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in economics.

Teaching and Learning Competency Requirement(to be completed within first three years of employment)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to teach Economics courses to a diverse student population, with a minimum of one year of teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in various modalities, including on-campus, blended/hybrid, fully online, and off-campus.
  • Proficiency with a Learning Management System such as D2L Brightspace.
  • Proven understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the communities that they serve.

Must be in good standing with Minneapolis College for consideration.

Benefits Info
Salary:

Starting at Column 3 Step 1 of $51,303 annually for the 2024-2025 Academic Year. Final salary determination will be commensurate with experience and education, in accordance with the current Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) Agreement.
