Position Summary

***NOTE***  This position is supported by a five-year US Department of Education Title V grant ending 9/30/2026, with annual continuation funding after 9/30/2024 contingent on funding availability.   

The Advising, Counseling, & Support Services Department is recruiting for a full time Title V - Transfer Coordinator.  This position is responsible for building relationships with transfer institutions resulting in Articulation Agreements leading to efficient and effective transfer pathways for VC students.   Responsible for the maintenance of Articulation Agreements and ensuring agreement expectations are being met.   Responsible for incoming transcript evaluations.  Responsible for collecting and analyzing transfer data and developing suggested improvements in effort to increase institutional transfer rates.  This position is supported by a five-year US Department of Education Title V grant ending 9/30/2026, with annual continuation funding after 9/30/2024 contingent on funding availability.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Seek and foster mutually beneficial relationships with transfer institutions in effort to develop articulation agreements and partnerships;
  • Maintains official copies of articulation agreements and monitors subsequent renewal dates;
  • Develops and conducts a systematic review process ensuring that all agreement expectations are being met from both institutions; 
  • Stays up-to-date of changes to VC academic programs to ensure articulation agreements are amended appropriately, and transfer institutions are made aware; 
  • Ensure that articulations and proposals are administered and managed in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and guidelines; especially in efforts of reverse transfer; 
  • Advocates and serve as college point-of-contact for resolving articulation related disputes with transfer institutions on behalf of Victoria College and the student;
  • Develop an effective awareness campaign to increase awareness of established articulation agreements and transfer partnerships within the community, advisors, faculty, staff and students;
  • Conducts and oversees the transcript evaluation process, ensuring timely evaluations and follow-up with students;
  • Review and analyze transfer related data in effort to develop research-based improvements to student transfer rates;
  • Conduct transfer related presentations in regards to transfer trends and common issues; 
  • Coordinate on-campus transfer fairs, and host individual institution recruitment events;
  • Conduct campus visits with transfer institutions in effort to foster strong partnerships;
  • Participate in professional development opportunities through multiple means, such as on-campus trainings, webinars and local/state/national professional organizations;
  • Assist the Institutional Effectiveness, Research, & Assessment department with data collection and maintenance of accurate database information;
  • Serve on Curriculum Instruction Committee and other campus committees as needed;
  • Assists with Pirate Orientations, Student Success Workshops, college tours for prospective students, and other student related events;
  • Maintains and ensures confidentiality of student documents and records.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Advising, Counseling, & Support Services.

Qualifications

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or related field.
  • Two years experience working in a related field required, three years preferred.  
  • Two years strong customer service experience required.
  • Must support and have a clear understanding of the mission of community college.
  • Experience working within an educational environment and working with a diverse population is preferred. 
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. 
  • Experience with software, including MS Office, Internet, Banner, and email. 
  • Ability to accomplish business tasks, meet deadlines, and ability to learn and interpret policies and procedures. 
  • Sensitivity to diverse populations and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Knowledge of Carl D Perkins Vocational-Technical Educational Act and/or other state and federal grants preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
