Job Description

PREDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW, Economics, to support Professor Dave Donaldson. Will provide research support at all stages of the process on a number of new and ongoing research projects in the fields of international trade and development economics.  Will be fully integrated into the research community and encouraged to attend weekly seminars at MIT.  Specific responsibilities include constructing data sets and preparing data for analysis, conducting analysis to answer research questions, presenting results and engaging in regular meetings, and editing papers for publication. 

This position is ideally suited to those planning to attend graduate school in economics.  

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; two years’ specialized research experience in economics (may include experience gained as an undergraduate); proven ability to efficiently organize and self-manage a time-sensitive workflow while maintaining high-quality output and accuracy with details; an interest in empirical research, including handling and analyzing large data sets; strong Stata, MATLAB, R, GIS, and/or Python skills; and ability to independently solve challenging problems.  Job #23779
