Summary of Position
Under general supervision of designated supervisor, install, maintain, and repair building system finish components including but not limited to; painting, tile, doors, windows, trim, flooring, wall systems, etc. Responsible for providing excellent customer service and producing the highest quality of building finish work.

UNH Facilities is a 24/7/365 operation and has responsibilities related to campus safety and emergency response. Due to the nature of our business, employees may be asked to flex schedules and/or respond to requests outside of normal working hours in order to meet the demands of the university. This may include early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday work as needed.

Other minimum qualifications
  1. Valid motor vehicle operator’s license
  2. A combination of education, certifications, and work experience equal to 1 year, in different aspects of building finishes, including but not limited to: paint, tile, block, basic and rough and finish carpentry, windows, screens and door systems. Preferred certifications include: Finishes for Building Interiors course; Paints and Finishes certificate course, Drywall and drywall repair certification course
  3. Ability to operate our UNH lift and understand safety procedures
  4. Knowledge of methods, tools and hazards of the trade.
  5. Ability to inspect equipment, determine malfunction and make necessary repairs.
  6. Knowledge and ability to use computers, tablets, smart phones, and software systems to perform work duties.
  7. Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job, including heavy work with exposure to inclement weather conditions for prolonged periods of time.
  8. Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.

Service Calls and Customer Service
  1. Respond to service calls and requests related to the operation, repair, maintenance and installation and removal of various building finishes.
  2. Ensure work is of the highest quality while meeting all building codes and safety requirements. Troubleshoot minor and complex finishes related issues and provide expert knowledge on solutions.
  3. Utilize the work management software to maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used and time expended.
  4. May participate in the on-call rotation and respond to emergency situations, including during off hours, as needed.
  5. Perform related duties as assigned

Project Work and Preventative Maintenance
  1. Perform preventive maintenance and repair/replacement work on building finishes.
  2. Update and maintain records in the work management software and provide equipment condition assessments.

  1. Works effectively and cooperatively with members of the Facilities Management team, University administration, the campus community, and external clients and customers
