Class Description

The purpose of this class is to ensure that visitors to the Art Gallery at CCBC are safe, secure, greeted, directed appropriately, and aware of acceptable behavior policies.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma /GED, and must be at least 18 years of age.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Gallery Observation:  
  • Monitors visitors to ensure the safety and security of artwork. 
  • Observes visitor behavior and reports any suspicious or inappropriate activity to the Gallery Coordinator. 
  • Keeps a headcount of visitors to the Gallery during their shift. 
  1. Visitor Interaction:  
  • Provides a welcoming and informative presence for gallery visitors. 
  • Answers questions about the artwork and the gallery. 
  • Directs visitors to restrooms, etc. 
  1. Gallery Maintenance:  
  • Maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the gallery. 
  • Reports any maintenance issues to the Gallery Coordinator/Gallery Assistant. 
  • Assists with the installation and deinstallation of exhibitions. 
  1. Representing the Galleries:  
  • Monitors should be knowledgeable about exhibits, exhibit sponsors, dates of exhibits, gallery hours, and special events by attending exhibition meetings, reading exhibition materials, and acquiring other information supplied by the Galleries’ Coordinator. 
  • Studying is allowed when visitors are not present.  Supervising the gallery and performing gallery-related duties supersedes other activities.  
  • Monitors represent the CCBC Galleries to the public.   
  • Monitors are expected to dress appropriately for receptions and special events. 
  • Monitors are to conduct themselves in an appropriately professional manner. 
  • Provides visitors a welcoming and informative presence for  and direct visitors to appropriate area(s).
  • Manage special projects as assigned by supervisor. 
  • Work closely with Public Safety for visitor relations.

BENEFIT SUMMARY
Supplemental (Retirement Annuities) 403(b) and 457(b)
  • Tax-sheltered annuities – 403(b). Payroll salary reduction authorization is needed.  The form is available on SharePoint Forms/Human Resources Forms.
    The 403(b) supplemental retirement plan is available to all CCBC employees (Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees).
  • Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when you open a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allows employees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdraw tax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors:  TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc.  Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature.  Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorization form is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/Human Resources Forms.
Parking
Free. Must obtain a parking permit from the Department of Public Safety to use on all campuses.
