Job Description

OFFICER, CLIMATE, Solve, to join Solve, an MIT initiative with a mission to solve world challenges.  Solve launches open calls for exceptional and diverse solutions to the most pressing global challenges, from anyone, anywhere in the world.  Will implement Solve Challenges throughout the year, working across its content areas with a focus on climate.  Responsibilities include coordinating the challenge design process (including research, stakeholder input, workshops, facilitator recruitment, and training) and drafting challenge description, guidelines, and FAQs; drafting promotion plans for implementation by the marketing team; reviewing Challenge submissions, ensuring that quality and diversity standards are met; leading finalist preparation and support, including drafting preparatory materials, coaching them through pitch recordings, and preparing them for interviews and pitch events; supporting the development of judging panels, including recruitment, communications, and preparation; maintaining/updating Salesforce database; assisting with program tracking, monitoring, and evaluation; analyzing impact data and making recommendations for program improvement; collaborating on designing and executing internal cross-team operations, systems, and processes; and providing strategic input to build the premier marketplace for social impact innovation through open innovation and transformational partnerships.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree in relevant field; three years’ events planning or project/program management experience, including at least one with program implementation; initiative; flexibility; and ability to work independently and plan work and meet deadlines across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.  PREFERRED:  familiarity with current topics in climate and sustainability, including potential roles for technology and innovation; experience in a social and/or environmental impact organization; experience working as or with entrepreneurs and innovators; and project management training/experience.  Job #23815-7   

The minimum salary for this position is $61,850, with a final offer based on experience and equity considerations
