Job Description

PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER, MIT Health (part-time, 50%), to provide psychiatric care to undergraduate and graduate patients within a team model and in accordance with MIT Health policies and state and federal rules, regulations, and standards of care.  Will assess patient mental health status through interview and synthesize this clinical information to formulate mental health status and diagnosis, develop a plan of care and treatment, implement the treatment plan, and evaluate follow up strategies according to age-specific plans of care; and provide health education, supportive counseling, and clinical outreach to the MIT community in collaboration with other individuals or services at MIT Health and across the campus community.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  master’s degree from a nurse practitioner education program (with specialization in mental health), licensure as a psychiatric nurse practitioner by the Massachusetts Board of Registration, and three years of experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner and at least two years of experience in an independent practice working with patients.  Job #23839-11

This is a 50% time position working every other weekend.

The work schedule begins on Friday at 5:00 P.M. and ends on Monday at 8:00 A.M.
