Job Description Summary
Do you have experience caring for young children? LLCC’s Child Development Center is searching for a Child Development Assistant! This position will perform duties necessary to support the teaching and learning effort of the Child Development Center, including assisting teachers with implementing the daily activities; reporting health concerns to classroom teachers; assisting in maintaining a clean safe and healthy classrooms; helping monitor kitchen and classroom supplies; performing laundry duties; and preparing breakfast, supplements and catered meals. Child Care Development Assistants truly makes a difference in our community!

As a staff member at LLCC’s Child Development Center, you can look forward to 7 paid holidays a year, paid winter break, 4-day work week in the summer for 12 weeks, 2 personal days, 15 sick days, and starting with 10 vacation days per year. This is a grant-funded position. Funding for this position has been secured through September 30, 2024 . Starting salary is likely to be between $36,246 and $41,349 per year with an excellent benefits package. The person hired into this position will be placed within this range based on education, training, experience, and skills.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of college (30 semester hours) with at least 12 semester hours in courses related directly to Child Care or Child Development.
  • One year previous experience in a child care setting.
  • Must have or be able to attain an ECE Credential Level II or higher.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to obtain Food Service Sanitation Certificate.
  • Current physical and TB test and current record of immunizations including 1 dose of Tdap and 2 doses of MMR vaccine or evidence of immunity to MMR.

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check, drug-screen, physical, and functional capacity exam.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Child Development/Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
  • ECE Credential Level 4 and Paraprofessional Licensure.
Physical Requirements
  • Carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Walk up to 1 mile.
  • Grip, hold and pinch small objects.
  • Dexterity to reach, bend, squat, stoop and kneel on a regular basis.
  • Frequent climbing (ex. ladders, stairs).
