Job Description

NURSE PRACTITIONER-URGENT CARE, MIT Health, to provide direct patient care to MIT Health patients. Will assess patients’ health status through interview and physical exam and synthesize this clinical information to formulate health status and diagnosis, develop a plan of care and treatment, implement the treatment plan, and evaluate follow up strategies according to age-specific plans of care. Said work is done in accordance with MIT Health policies and state and federal rules, regulations, and standard of care.  Will also provide health education, supportive counseling, and clinical outreach to the MIT community in collaboration with other individuals or services at MIT Health and across the MIT community.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  master’s degree in nursing and graduation from an accredited family nurse practitioner program; current advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) certification; current provider card in basic life support (BLS); MA board authorization to practice as an advanced practice nurse; valid prescriptive authority from both the MA DPH-DCP and federal DEA; ability to summarize and communicate, in English, moderately complex information in varied written formats to internal and external customers; and ability to comprehend and communicate complex verbal information, in English, to staff, patients, families, and external customers.  PREFERRED:  advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification.  Job #23841-11
