Responsibilities*

Provides a wide variety of moderately complex to complex technical lab support, individually or together with other lab members. Experimental procedures include mammalian cell culture, cloning, RNA isolation & qPCR, protein isolation & immunoblot, genotyping, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, small and large animal work, transfection/transduction procedures.

Responsible for ordering, maintaining lab supplies, and lab safety under leadership from PI and senior research staff. 

Responsible for maintaining mouse colony, precise documentation of the lab mouse colony, genotyping, and helping perform surgical procedures with the senior research staff.

Maintain detailed records of all experiments and data, uploading to online lab servers and lab notebooks. Write protocols. Conducts analysis of data, interprets and implements research methodology, with the supervision of PI and senior research staff.

Required Qualifications*

The applicant must have a college degree, and at least 1 year of full-time biomedical research experience in a lab setting. The candidate should be excited to ask questions, think critically, and have fun doing science. They should also be prepared to work closely with the PI and senior research staff to establish knowledge and expertise. This will require having the ability to be organized, detail-oriented, driven, leadership skills, and enthusiastic about multi-tasking. It is important that the applicant is willing to work with small and large animals and is a team-player. Excellent attendance record.  Excellent communication skills.

Desired Qualifications*

We would prefer research experience in mammalian cell culture, small/large animal work, molecular work, biochemistry analysis, immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence and fluorescence microscopy.

This position is with the School of Dentistry and the work address is located at the NCRC Bldg. Ann Arbor, MI 

Additional Information

This is a one(1)-year term appointment with possibility of one year-based renewals contingent upon performance and funding.
