This is a full-time, 260-day position located on the Emmetsburg Campus of Iowa Lakes Community College. The Academic Advisor will be responsible for a caseload of a minimum of 250 students enrolled in Career & Technical Education, AA/AS, and Transfer Pathways. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required to meet FAR Part 141.36 (Assistant Chief Flight Instructor Qualifications):
141.36 - Assistant chief instructor qualifications.
- To be eligible for designation as an assistant chief instructor for a course of training, a person must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a commercial pilot or an airline transport pilot certificate and, except for the assistant chief instructor for a course of training solely for a lighter-than-air rating, a current flight instructor certificate. The certificates must contain the appropriate aircraft category, class, and instrument ratings if an instrument rating is required by the course of training for the category and class of aircraft used in the course;
- Meet the pilot-in-command recent flight experience requirements of § 61.57 of this chapter;
- Pass a knowledge test on -
- Teaching methods;
- Applicable provisions of the “Aeronautical Information Manual”;
- Applicable provisions of parts 61, 91, and 141 of this chapter; and
- The objectives and approved course completion standards of the course for which the person seeks to obtain designation.
- Pass a proficiency test on the flight procedures and maneuvers appropriate to that course; and
- Meet the applicable requirements in paragraphs (b), (c), and (d) of this section. However, an assistant chief instructor for a course of training for gliders, balloons, or airships is only required to have 40 percent of the hours required in paragraphs (b) and (d) of this section.
- For a course of training leading to the issuance of a recreational or private pilot certificate or rating, an assistant chief instructor must have:
- At least 500 hours as pilot in command; and
- Flight training experience, acquired as either a certificated flight instructor or an instructor in a military pilot flight training program, or a combination thereof, consisting of at least -
- 1 year and a total of 250 flight hours; or
- 500 flight hours.
- For a course of training leading to the issuance of an instrument rating or a rating with instrument privileges, an assistant chief flight instructor must have:
- At least 50 hours of flight time under actual or simulated instrument conditions;
- At least 500 hours as pilot in command; and
- Instrument flight instructor experience, acquired as either a certificated flight instructor-instrument or an instructor in a military pilot flight training program, or a combination thereof, consisting of at least -
- 1 year and a total of 125 flight hours; or
- 200 flight hours.
- For a course of training other than one leading to the issuance of a recreational or private pilot certificate or rating, or an instrument rating or a rating with instrument privileges, an assistant chief instructor must have:
- At least 1,000 hours as pilot in command; and
- Flight training experience, acquired as either a certificated flight instructor or an instructor in a military pilot flight training program, or a combination thereof, consisting of at least -
- 1 1/2 years and a total of 500 flight hours; or
- 750 flight hours.
- To be eligible for designation as an assistant chief instructor for a ground school course, a person must have 6 months of experience as a ground school instructor at a certificated pilot school.
Preferred additional requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited institution or experience in an educational institution.
- Project management training and/or experience.
Salary: Salary will be commensurate with education and related experience for a 213-day contract.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
This is a full-time faculty position located on the Estherville Campus. The instructor is responsible for teaching a full-time assignment of Criminal Justice classes as defined by the College. Some teaching assignments may be during evenings or weekends and/or on the TV system. Must evaluate and report student performance and progress in assigned courses in accordance with college and division policies and procedures.

This is a full-time, 260-day grant-funded position located on the Emmetsburg or Spencer Campus, to be determined upon hire. Under the general direction of AmeriCorps Seniors policy guidelines and sponsor, Iowa lakes Community College, the RSVP Project Director oversees the development and day-to-day operation of the Northwest Iowa RSVP. The Test Center Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring consistent and efficient testing practices within all campus Success Centers. - Ensure compliance with all aspects of the federally funded TRIO Grants at Iowa Lakes Community College (Talent Search and TRIO-SSS).
- Supervise and manage all TRIO-SSS and Talent Search personnel.
- Develop, administer, implement, and evaluate the Talent Search and TRIO-SSS programs in its entirety, including preparation and grant writing.
- Budget oversight for all grant expenditures.
- Administer and evaluate strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure College compliance with federal mandates for Talent Search and TRIO-SSS.

- Maintain current course syllabi and provide student guides for all courses taught.
- Design and implement teaching methodologies for classroom and laboratory activities, which develop the competencies needed for individuals employed in welding.
- Maintain compliance with grants, supervision of funded part-time staff, record keeping and reporting and communication with College Grants Office and Administration.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
This is a part-time, 27.5 hours/week, day position, located on the Spencer Campus. Primary duties are to perform routine custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning walls, floors, carpets, equipment, whiteboards, etc. Responsible for grounds pick-up, lawn care and snow removal. Work with cleaning equipment, expendable cleaning supplies. Job duties may be performed at all campuses and in all buildings or facilities. Holiday, evening, and weekend work required. This is an “essential” personnel position and will require the employee to work during periods of adverse weather and when the college is closed.

- Work within the Northwest Iowa Regional STEM Hub to assist in all Governor’s STEM Advisory Council work in promoting an increase in awareness and engagement in STEM education.
- Coordinate with business and industry partners, educators in formal and informal settings, students ranging in PreK-12th grade, and community members to create additional STEM opportunities.
- Co-manage STEM budgets. Complete requisitions, and budget reconciliation. Process invoices and keep accurate and current record of all expenditures to ensure an accurate working budget.
- Assist with planning, organizing, and coordinating STEM Festivals, Northwest Regional STEM Advisory Board meetings, and other meeting/activities throughout the region.
- In the Manager’s absence, assist students, faculty, staff, and others in answering inquiries or resolving problems.
- Manage and perform various office tasks as needed.
- Plan, attend, and participate at all meetings as needed, take minutes, and send to appropriate parties.
- Gather media stories in the Northwest Region for submission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (% OF THE TIME):
Constant (67-100%)
- Assist the head softball coach in the day-to-day operations of the softball program.
- Assist in the recruitment of student athletes.
- Assist in the academic monitoring and success of student athletes.
- Housing Assistant – Will live on campus and monitor residential housing.
- Responsible for dorm supervision and housing office hours.
- Assist in organization and running of the intramural or student senate program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Frequent (34-66%)
- Evaluate athlete’s strengths and deficiencies as possible recruits or to improve the athlete’s techniques to be competitive.
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of team members, ensuring a full roster of student athletes.
- Assist in the maintenance of program budget.
- Assist with game management.
Occasional (10-33%)
- Assist in the monitoring of compliance with NJCAA rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Constant (67-100%) reaching, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions and viewing various types of close visual work. Frequent (34-66%) stooping, crouching, pushing, pulling, and carrying. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and 10 pounds of force frequently. Must complete Bloodborne Pathogens Training. Will require flexible hours including weekends and evenings. The additional physical demands normally expected of a coach are required. Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and provide proof of insurance. May be required to travel utilizing personal vehicle.
