Position Summary/Purpose of Position: | Provide expertise, oversight and coordination for FM’s 24/7/365 incident response effort, from initial occurrence to closeout, including triage and assessment of situations, determining response, staffing, customer communication and administrative responsibilities. Administrative tasks include inputting data into the automated Facilities Management System (FMS). Incumbent has a critical role in coordinating activities to ensure continuity of critical operations/services. They must consistently exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of their essential duties. There will be times that this incumbent may serve in the role of Incident Commander in the absence of senior leadership – they may be the primary or only set of eyes on campus to assess and address incidents and emergencies from a facilities perspective. An Incident Response Commander has the overall responsibility for managing an incident by establishing objectives, planning strategies, and implementing tactics – they are the person in charge. |

Education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience required. Experience: Seven (7) years of experience in construction and/or facility maintenance in a multi-facility complex. Experience with 24/7 response. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Preferences: |
Preferences: Experience and expertise in electro/mechanical/plumbing trades strongly desired. Supervisory or Lead experience preferred. |
Additional Certifications: |
Incumbent must possess a driver’s license, as duties require the incumbent to travel to and from sites both on and off campus. IF driving a State vehicle, incumbent must possess a valid MD Class C driver’s license or equivalent with fewer than six (6) points. Within six months of employment, must complete and pass the FEMA: Intro to Incident Command System (Higher Ed) certification ICS-100 for Higher Education. |

The hiring range for this position is $66,840 – $83,550. The scheduled work hours for this position is Wednesday – Saturday 1:30pm – 12:00am. Physical Demands | Work is performed in both an office environment and in the field. Incumbent must be able to work in hazardous environments, including confined spaces, heights, flooded areas and other adverse conditions. Due to the nature of the position, the incumbent will be considered an Essential/Catastrophic employee, subject to a 24-hour day, 7-day week span of operation – during times of emergency, incumbent can expect to work excessive hours to manage and coordinate a situation; flexibility is required. This is one of multiple positions; shifts vary and all shifts include evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. Shift rotation may be required to meet operational needs.
