Summary of Position
Provide comprehensive services and support to students and families in managing their university finances. Engage in activities that enhance recruitment, retention, and success of the student body. Administer financial aid and student receivables programs in compliance with applicable Federal, State, and institutional laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Assist in the research and review of regulations, polices and process assessments.

Account Analysis
Use independent decision making when evaluating student need for exceptional circumstances, gather appropriate supporting documentation, and submit for review. Use federal regulatory professional judgement to revise dependency status on application. Complete student receivables activities such as late payment fee and financial hold assessment. Assist students and families struggling financially to explore resolution options and to support their continued enrollment, mitigating risk of becoming a collection account. Review, research, and post incoming payments. Research solutions for complex situations to support student enrollment and retention. Review application data elements to establish eligibility for federal and institutional aid.

Specialized Work Team
Assisting in the administration of Blackbaud Award Management scholarship processing. Perform special projects and assist with specific aid programs, as assigned. This includes serving on specialized work groups (example but not limited to loans, study abroad, scholarships, fee assessment, reduce loan/part-time students). Work as a team to process aid which includes evaluation of aid offers, assessing accuracy of aid offer, and necessary aid adjustments.

Customer Service
Provide comprehensive customer service for students and families regarding financial aid and tuition and fee billing. Inform and advise students about financial aid eligibility, application procedures, costs, indebtedness, and financial literacy offerings. Individualize information to the student given their needs and program of study. Maintain knowledge of applicable federal, state, and university policies and procedures as it relates to student aid and billing. De-escalate customer service matters. Participate in all customer service-related activities such as answering phones, email, scheduling appointments, and walk-in traffic. Assist Admissions Office in its outreach activities by providing student financial information at open house/recruitment events, info sessions, and offering counseling to students and families. Serve as an educational resource for prospective students, returning students, and families.

Document Processing
Perform review and analysis of financial aid application materials. Federal Tax Verifications as mandated by federal law. Review the students and/or parents federal income taxes for correctness and compare information on taxes to information filed on the FAFSA. Report any discrepancies and make appropriate aid adjustments. Manage receipt of electronic forms relating to financial aid, scholarships, student accounts, and create new forms as needed. Forms may require account adjustments related to social security number updates, payroll deductions, or other personally identifiable information.

Maintain confidentiality and protect and secure student records, data, and privacy. Ensure that proper controls are in place when accessing various technological products and services. Counsel and advise students and parents on best practices for ensuring privacy and FERPA compliance. Adhere and advise on financial aid data sharing practices and the permissibility of access to financial aid data elements and materials.
