Job Summary
The College & Career Connections program (C3) will enhance the guidance and counseling landscape for Midland ISD students by equipping each student with the tools and support necessary for a successful college and career journey. The initiative aims to foster a seamless transition from high school to the myriad of post-secondary education and career opportunities available to them through Midland College and within the Permian Basin.

The C3 Coach will implement C3’s work to help students successfully select, enroll in, and matriculate to dual credit and postsecondary opportunities. This position will provide relevant, timely communication to support schools in their effort to funnel students and their families to educational opportunities in higher education. This position will report to the Executive Director of C3. The C3 Coach realizes the C3 vision of increasing dual credit enrollment and post-graduation enrollment at Midland College.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
  • Experience working directly with students
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a public school system
  • Demonstrated experience advising students individually and in groups
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and social skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various audiences including students, families, and community members
  • Ability to work independently or in a team
Essential Functions
  • Provides guidance and support for students in grades 6-12 to promote dual credit and post-secondary pathways
  • Engages with students, families, and the wider community to promote dual credit, post-secondary, and adult education opportunities
  • Facilitates recruitment and exposure of Midland College opportunities and C3 program activities within the broader community
  • Monitors and tracks students’ academic plans, interactions, and other C3 activities in designated online platform(s)
  • Administers and synthesizes student career and program interest surveys
  • Manages assigned caseload of students across multiple 6-12 MISD campuses
  • Refers students, families, and/or community members to relevant Midland College programs and services, based on needs and/or interest
  • Educates students, families, and the community on the range of resources available to finance their college education
  • Serves as liaison between Midland College and assigned MISD campuses
  • Maintains accurate record keeping and data tracking for caseload management
  • Meets regularly with Lead C3 Coach, C3 Executive Director, and MISD C3 Coordinator
  • Maintains an accurate calendar with consistency on assigned campuses
  • Meets with students of diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds
  • Applies the coaching techniques learned in professional development for C3
  • Participates in professional development and a quality management program focused on C3 implementation and continuous improvement
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends for MISD campus specific, Midland College, and community events
  • Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move from office to other locations on or off campus

Security Sensitivity
