Job Description

FACULTY AFFAIRS ADMINISTRATOR, School of Science (SoS), to administer and implement operational and administrative activities for the SoS Dean’s Office (DO) faculty affairs program and serve as an expert resource on faculty affairs-related policies and processes to administrators in SoS departments, labs, centers, and institutes (DLCIs).  Responsibilities include administering the SoS faculty promotions and tenure process; conducting detailed review, editing, and formatting of PowerPoint presentations for the dean and associate deans; managing the SoS Teaching Prize program; administering faculty leaves and the faculty housing program; coordinating faculty HR transaction review, documentation, and approval; organizing faculty lunch programs; supporting the SoS faculty search and chair appointment processes; designing, developing, and maintaining knowledge resources for the SoS faculty affairs program; maintaining faculty affairs records; and performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; at least three years of administrative, operations, and/or program management experience; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; ability to juggle and follow through on a variety of tasks concurrently and meet deadlines without compromising quality; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; tact, diplomacy, discretion, and good judgment with confidential/sensitive information; and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe PDFs. Seek a tech-savvy administrator who is ready to take advantage of organizational tools and database systems to streamline and simplify administrative processes.  PREFERRED: MIT experience.  Job #23957-8
