Class Description

Web Content Coordinator I:
The purpose of this class is to serve as a cross functional web marketing generalist on the web team, assisting with the creation and maintenance of the content presented on the college website. This includes working with subject matter experts throughout the college in order to ensure the content presented on the website is accurate, meets our audiences’ needs and conforms to CCBC’s web content standards and marketing strategies, as well as ADA guidelines for web accessibility.  

Salary Range: $49,432-$81,703
Web Content Coordinator II:
The purpose of this class is to oversee, update, and create the content presented on the college website, with a focus on high-traffic, high impact areas of the site related to enrollment and major college initiatives. This entails taking a lead role, while collaborating closely with key leaders in Marketing and Communications as well as with departments throughout the college in order to assess their website needs and develop collaborative plans for addressing them based on web communication and marketing best practices. This class ensures that content presented on the website meets the audiences’ needs and conforms to CCBC’s web content standards and marketing strategies, as well as ADA guidelines for web accessibility.
Salary Range: $60,906-$100,669

Compensation within the posted ranges is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field.  Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.

Minimum Requirements

Web Content Coordinator I:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, Marketing or related field and 1year of full-time or 2 years of part-time online content development and publishing experience required. 
 Familiar with content management systems and proficiency in MS Office and the ability to work in the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Acrobat Pro required. Experience in higher education setting preferred.
 
Certifications:

  • None required at new hire.
  • Within first 2 years of CCBC employment, achieve:
  • Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) and Web Accessibility specialist (WAS)
OR 
  • World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Introduction to Web Accessibility certificate.

Web Content Coordinator II 
Bachelor’s Degree required, in Communications, English, Marketing or related field preferred. Five (5) years of full-time online content development and publishing experience required, preferably in higher education. International Association of Accessibility Professionals, Certified Professional in Web Accessibility or World Wide Web Consortium Introduction to Web Accessibility certificate required. Three (3) additional professional certificates in SEO, analytics, digital marketing, UX design, or project management required. Similar certificates, relevant to CCBC technology, will be considered based on the approval of Marketing & Communication and Human Resources. 
Proficient with content management systems Cascade CMS preferred. Proficiency in MS Office 365 and the ability to work in the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Acrobat Pro required.
With a recommendation from the direct supervisor, a Web Content Coordinator I may be promoted after five (5) successful years (as indicated by formal performance appraisals) as a Web Content Coordinator I, via the Web Content Coordinator Career Ladder process.

Class Specific Essential Duties

 Web Content Coordinator I

  1. Using a content management system (CMS); ensure all website content is accurate, up-to-date, and consistent with CCBC web content standards, and that it adheres to CCBC marketing goals and ADA guidelines for Web accessibility. 
  2. Edit and publish content on the CCBC website. Assist with  content development and asset management in the CMS. 
  3. Conduct content audits to review the site on a regular basis, ensuring it is current, relevant and conforms to our Web Content Standards.  
  4. Provide cross-functional support across a team of web professionals to ensure quality, consistency and timely delivery of all web content.

Web Content Coordinator II
  1. Using CCBC content management system (CMS); ensure all website content is accurate, up-to-date and consistent in terms of voice and style and meets CCBC web content standards. 
  2. Responsible for editing and publishing content on the CCBC website. Oversees content development and asset management in Cascade. Adheres to the overall goals of the website and CCBC communications and marketing strategies and meets ADA guidelines for Web accessibility. 
  3. Conduct content audits on a regular basis to review the site, ensuring it is current, relevant and conforms to our Web Content Standards.  
  4. Demonstrate leadership across a team of web professionals to ensure quality, consistency and timely delivery of all web related content.

Position Specific Essential Duties

Web Content Coordinator I

  1. Focus on assigned content areas including community, regulatory, and institutional information.  
  2. Meet and work with content subject matter experts within assigned areas, writers, and the Assistant Director of Digital Strategy to source content for the website from subject matter experts (SMEs).
  3. Coordinate with subject matter experts to enhance existing pages by adding or removing page elements and assisting with updating content as needed. 
  4. Review and publish event submissions.
  5. Review and publish content, ensuring all content adheres to CCBC web content standards and federal accessibility regulations.  
  6. Administer quality assurance checks to the CCBC website to identify, diagnose and correct content problems including broken links, spelling errors, formatting, and accessibility concerns. 
  7. Support web accessibility by writing alt text for images and preventing accessibility violations.
  8. Work with graphic and multimedia designers to source web content. 
  9. Assist with testing new website components.

Web Content Coordinator II
  1. Focus primarily on high level content (prominent, enrollment and engagement driving).
  2. Take a lead role with Web Content Coordinator I, when developing and updating more complex Web content.
  3. Meet and work with content subject matter experts within assigned areas, writers, and the Assistant Director of Digital Strategy to source content for the website from subject matter experts (SMEs). 
  4. Develop schedule and review existing content with SMEs for needed revisions and to determine continued applicability.
  5. Review and publish content, including event submissions, ensuring their content adheres to web content standards and federal regulations.  
  6. Create, maintain and distribute multiple resources for subject matter experts. Coordinate with subject matter experts to enhance existing pages by adding or removing page elements and assisting with updating content as needed. 
  7. Administer quality assurance checks to the CCBC website to identify, diagnose and correct content problems including broken links, spelling errors, formatting, and accessibility concerns. 
  8. Maintain training materials and documentation, including content authoring guide and site style guide (design/image size specifications).
  9. Support web accessibility by writing alt text for images and preventing accessibility violations.
  10. Assist the Assistant Director of Digital Strategy in developing and implementing test plans for key site functionality such as search and indexing mechanisms. 
  11. Work with graphic and multimedia designers to source web content. 
  12. Work with contractors to test new functionality and design components in multiple browsers. Interface with designers and developers for coding of trickier page elements, such as responsive tables.
