Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The University of Maryland is looking for a dynamic individual to join the Procurement & Strategic Sourcing team. The Procurement Card Coordinator will manage monthly State audit of purchasing card transactions accurately and completely. Educate customers on the proper use of the purchasing card, policy information, changes to procedures and understand the purchasing card program at a full programmatic level. Manage and perform purchasing card training sessions by developing and presenting training materials professionally.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:
  • Two years progressively responsible experience in a combination of budgeting, accounting and procurement.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • High degree of attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Highly organized to prioritize and manage a high volume and variety of daily tasks.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service standards, excellent problem solving skills, collaborative and able to interact effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work successfully in a face-paced, multi-tasked environment, think proactively and work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficient in use of MS Office applications.
  • Dependable and able to manage confidential data with discretion and tact.
  • Strong analytical skills.
Preferences:
Preferences:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field.
  • Knowledge of University of Maryland Policies & Procedures for Purchasing Cards & Procurement.
  • Ability to explain the value of a purchasing card program in a Procurement organization
  • Ability to use independent judgment to make business decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to understand basis principles of Purchasing.
  • Prior knowledge of Delegated Procurement.

Physical Demands
Normal office environment with extensive computer use. Must be able to clearly read computer screen for extended periods and maintain significant fine finger dexterity for keyboarding. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling common office items such as supplies, files and documented materials.
