Job Summary
Kids’ College is a summer enrichment program for elementary age children on the Midland College campus. The camp counselor position will assist with various tasks associated with the administration of Kids’ College.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be 16 years of age by March 31, 2024
    • Proof of age is required at the interview
  • Must be available to attend mandatory training and preparation May 28th – May 30th, 2024.
  • Must be able to work all sessions, Monday – Thursday afternoons, June 3rd – June 28th, 2024.
Preferred Qualifications
Essential Functions
  • Assist Kids’ College staff with elementary-age students while they are on the Midland College campus.
  • Act as teacher’s assistant with assigned class. Take attendance, provide supplies and snacks for class, assist with keeping students engaged during class, and assist in handling any class disruptions or issues.
  • Direct children to class groups and lead them to and from classes
  • Lead carpool line drop-off and pick up under the supervision of the Coordinator
  • Assemble snacks, water, and any other supplies; assist in setting up the classroom
  • Clean classroom daily, assist in putting away supplies, taking out trash
  • Assist in other duties including distributing welcome packet, class information, Kid’s College T-shirts, serving refreshments, lifting and carrying boxes up to 35 pounds
  • Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
  • Frequently moves boxes or coolers of water and ice weighing up to 35 pounds
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Use of manual dexterity
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
  • The person in this position needs to frequently move from office to various locations on campus
  • Duties indoors and some outdoors; must be able to work in all types of weather conditions including extreme heat, rain or other types of inclement weather
Security Sensitivity
All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. An employment offer is contingent on completion of a satisfactory criminal background investigation.
Min Salary $10.00 per hour
Max Salary $12.00 per hour (returning runners only)
