Job Description

ASSISTANT REGISTRAR, CLASSROOM SCHEDULING, Registrar’s Office, to oversee Institute-wide academic classroom scheduling in accordance with established policy.  Wil allocate room assignments for classes, examinations, and ad hoc events; schedule 16,000 students into approximately 2,400 classes each term; serve as a resource to faculty, staff, and students throughout the Institute regarding Rules and Regulations of the Faculty and MIT Policies and Procedures as they pertain to scheduling classes, examinations, events, and activities within classrooms; manage the Schedules Team as it interacts with stakeholders to assign classroom resources for class-related activities, meetings, and events; provide strategic oversight of improvements, enhancements, and innovations to classroom scheduling business processes, policies, and supporting technology solutions; and provide analysis concerning classroom needs and usage, assist in renovation planning, extract and assess classroom utilization data, and make recommendations regarding classroom policy.  

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; five years of experience in higher education administration; demonstrated proficiency with complex scheduling systems, Microsoft products, Zoom, Slack, Dropbox, etc.; strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; and meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.  Must be able to motivate others; use strong negotiation skills, diplomacy, and tact to resolve complex problems; communicate effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body regarding enforcement of relevant Institute policies; and work with others in a fast-paced, hybrid environment.  PREFERRED:  master’s degree in a related field and supervisory experience. Job #23917-8

Hiring range -  $70,00o - 80,000
