Job Description - Summary
Provides instruction in Academic Related Instruction – Student Success (ACA).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Maintains mastery of subject matter.
2. Develops and/or teaches courses for which the appropriate credential is held.
3. Teaches in various formats, various locations, and via various delivery methods.
4. Adheres to policies, procedures, expectations, and practices of the College, the division, and discipline.
5. Communicates clearly with students, other faculty, and staff.
6. Contributes to a safe and secure campus environment.
7. Enforces the Student Code of Conduct and deploys appropriate classroom management.
8. Upholds the College mission and values.
9. Establishes a sense of belonging for students, colleagues, and campus visitors.
10. Upholds course learning outcomes.
11. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
General Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential

· Experience teaching College Success classes in a North Carolina community college
· Proficiency using Moodle or similar Learning Management systems
· Experience with online instruction
· Quality Matters online instructor training is preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common correspondence and reports.
· Ability to articulate professional responses to common inquiries and/or complaints from students.
· Ability to write using proper grammar and punctuation.
· Ability to effectively present information to students.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
· Ability to apply and understand standard mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and other mathematical functions as appropriate to the division’s need for such skill
REASONING ABILITY:
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
· Understanding of and commitment to the unique nature and role of the College and to the philosophy of the community college system.
Required Qualifications
Must have a minimum of a Master’s degree.
Must have teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Quality Matter online instructor training is preferred.
