About the Department | NC State’s Division of Enrollment Management and Services (EMAS) fulfills a critical role for the university as the steward of student record data. This responsibility entails ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of student record data on behalf of the university’s 36,000+ actively enrolled students, and many more alumni. By successfully doing this, EMAS empowers the university to ethically, and accurately, use student record data to make sound decisions in pursuit of its overall mission. |
Essential Job Duties | The Data Specialist position is part of the Office of Registration & Records (R&R) within Enrollment Management and Services. The person in this position will be looked to as a leading expert on student record data and reporting. This will require developing an understanding of student record data in NC State’s Student Information System (SIS) and the various R&R processes that generate it. The Data Specialist will be surrounded by data team colleagues and R&R staff that will help develop the knowledge to become a student record data expert at the university.
