Job Summary
This position will be responsible for delivering training for nurse aide and other health science courses. This will include maintaining supplies and equipment for simulation lab and clinical experience. Must work within budgetary guidelines and the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) curriculum.
Required Qualifications
Possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse in the State of Texas 
 
Minimum of one year of experience working in a Long Term Care Facility 
 
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification 
 
Must possess a valid Texas driver license, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy 
 
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, general office equipment, and equipment related to nursing care 
 
Strong organizational skills 
 
Self-motivated, independent worker 
 
Knowledge of LTCF regulations on patient care 
 
Ability to communicate effectively, with a diverse population, both orally and in writing 
 
Interest in working in a college setting 
 
Ability to work effectively as a member of the instructional team
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor degree in Nursing 
 
Experience teaching adolescent or adult students 
 
Bilingual (Spanish speaking)
Essential Functions
Instruct Nurse Aide and other health science students in theory and skill 
 
Utilize a variety of effective and professional teaching techniques and methods to assist students in attaining the performance objectives of the courses 
 
Fulfill course curriculum and learning objectives 
 
Assist in maintaining accreditation from DADS and other regulatory agencies 
 
Oversee clinical experience of students in various community clinical sites and in a simulation lab including maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment 
 
Prepare report of students’ success according to Midland College and Midland ISD guidelines 
 
Maintain budgetary compliance 
 
Attend meetings as required by the Director 
 
Observe the administrative policies and mission of Midland College 
 
Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time

Hear and understand speech at normal levels 
 
See and read computer screen and printed material with reasonable accommodation 
 
Speak so that others may understand at normal levels 
 
Enter data into a computer terminal/typewriter, operate standard office equipment, and use a telephone 
 
Ability to lift, move, and/or carry up to 25 pounds 
 
Primarily, indoor classroom, simulation laboratory and community healthcare setting with common related body fluids present 
 
Employee will come in direct contact with Midland College staff, students, and the public

Min Salary $25.00/hr (LVN), $30.00/hr (ADN)
Max Salary $40.00/hr (BSN), $50.00/hr (MSN or higher)
Pay Statement Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
