Job Description:

Westchester Community College seeks a non-credit health adjunct to teach a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant course. The incumbent may teach all or part of the lecture and laboratory practice training and may assist with the delivery of the clinical training in the student supervised clinical work experience.  The incumbent will be responsible for comprehensive course instruction within specified program areas, create a course outline and syllabus, present class lectures and educational demonstrations, prepare course benchmarks (such as quizzes and exams) and maintain student grades/attendance reports.

 

 


Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   A minimum of a Master's degree and a minimum of one year of employment in a healthcare facility, including a minimum of 1 year in an ambulatory healthcare setting performing or observing administrative and clinical procedures required.  Practical occupational experience in EKG, Phlebotomy, pharmacology, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medical office procedures, computer applications and medical billing and coding is also required.  Demonstrated competency to teach adult learners required.  The successful candidates must also have experience working with diverse populations; and demonstrated knowledge of internet navigation, email and computer skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   A minimum of three years of employment in a healthcare facility is strongly preferred.  Additional preferred credentials include certification as a Phlebotomist, EKG Tech, Medical Assistant and Registered Nurse, RN.


Additional Information:

RATE OF PAY:  $82.57 per hour.  No benefits.
