Job Responsibilities

The Academic and Career Advisor facilitates academic plan development, career advising, registration assistance, and academic strategy cultivation with an assigned caseload of newly admitted students, students in their first semester of enrollment, and continuing students aimed at student success, persistence, retention, progression, and completion.  Maintains thirty (30) hours of advising availability per week, participates in on-going training provided by the Center for Academic and Career Advising and assigned academic department(s), facilitates early interventions, and regularly uses available technologies to ensure accurate and effective advising.

This position is located on the Airport Campus in the Academic and Career Advising department. 

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Master's degree; or bachelor's degree plus two (2) years' experience in student services programs (preferably in developmental advising).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years' experience in student services programs/academic advising or an achieved master's degree.  The preferred candidate will have direct academic advising experience in a community/technical college setting including experience managing a caseload, leading student interventions, and leveraging technologies to document academic advisement and student support.
